Training and study tour for sewage treatment technology options (2006)

The Foundation facilitated and organised a study tour of senior officials of Govt. of Tamil Nadu on wastewater treatment technology options in the states of Karnataka, Goa, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh. The objective of the assignment was to not only show the facilities but to take the participants through a rigorous evaluation process and to carry out life cycle cost analysis of each of the visited plants. At the end pf the short assignment a decision matrix was provided for the participants to identify appropriate solutions for their respective local conditions. This study tour helped the participant draw outline of state policy for selection of appropriate technology options for its proposed programme of providing sanitation infrastructure for rapidly growing cities and towns.
