Central National Capital Region Water and Sanitation Study (2005)
One of the Foundation professionals was retained to carry out a baseline situation analysis of water supply and wastewater management in the Central National Capital Region comprising Delhi and the surrounding 6 satellite cities. The study focused on infrastructure available for bulk water abstraction, conveyance, treatment; wastewater collection, treatment and disposal and the water quality of surface and groundwater sources; and evolved a scenario for next 20 years. Among a set of innovative solutions, the study recommended engineered ground water recharge system for utilising surplus monsoon flows from the Yamuna River.
